This package is for you who enjoys to cycle a little longer routes. A 7-day cycling holiday where we have picked out the finest selection of what the Southwest of Sweden has to offer when it comes to accommodation combined with a beautiful cycle route. 

From a charming small hostel and Bed & Breakfast to "glitz and glamour" at top class hotels - the tour offers an exciting variety of the best accommodations, all with good standards. Several of the accommodations offer free access to spa, gym or pools. Which could be extra appreciated after a day on the bike saddle!

We take care of your luggage and ensure that it will be waiting for you when you arrive to the different accommodations.
 

The experiences are all lined up along the route - charming cafés and restaurants, fishing villages, ports, handicraft, farm shops, castles, vineyards and much more!

Good for your well being and your health, good for the environment and with plenty of treats.

You cycle the whole distance of the new national cycle route, Kattegattleden, which starts in Helsingborg and ends in Gothenburg. You cycle, as close to the coast as possible, through Skåne county's wellknown and beautiful peninsulas, Kullahalvön and Bjärehalvön, Halland county's sandy beaches and small, charming coastal towns, Halmstad, Falkenberg and Varberg and Kungsbacka. You finish your tour in Gothenburg, the second largest town in Sweden with epithets like "New Amsterdam and "Little London". 7 days, 6 overnight stays.

Are you arriving early - why not take the ferry, 20 minutes, to Helsingør, one of Denmarks charming coastal towns?
Accommodation in a very centrally top class hotel.

Day 1
Helsingborg - Ängelholm, approx. 60 km
Arrival. If you are renting bikes, you collect them in the center of the town. With the view of Denmark in the west you start your cycling north, close, close to the water, Öresund, passing charming, prosperous coastal villages and the town Höganäs, famous for its salt-glazed ceramics.
Accommodation in a centrally situated hotel in the small town Ängelholm.

Day 2
Ängelholm - Båstad, approx. 40 km
Today you cross over the Bjäre peninsula and connect to the cycle route Kattegattleden, which passes Båstad, the summer village wellknown for its tennis tournaments. 
Accommodation in a top class hotel with swimming pool close to the sea. 

Day 3
Båstad - Ugglarp, approx. 65-75 km
Today you pass the town Halmstad and small coastal villages with cosy restaurants for lunch, nature reserves, coastal moorland and shore meadows combined with cliffs and small sandy beaches. From Halmstad you can choose between cycling on the scenic "Prince Bertil´s path" even closer to the sea (10 extra km) or strictly follow the signs for Kattegattleden. You will also pass Tylösand, one of Sweden´s most well known beaches. 
Accommodation in a hostel with hotel standard, 5 minutes away from the ocean.

Day 4
Ugglarp - Varberg, approx. 68 km
Further north you will find coastal moorland, shore meadows combined with cliffs and small sandy beaches. 
You ride on small side roads passing the town Falkenberg, fishing villages and just before you arrive to Varberg, the beach Apelviken a popular place for surfers, all year round.
Accommodation and dinner in a top class hotel centrally situated at the market-place (alternative an apartment at a summer resort just outside the town).  

Day 5
Varberg - Åsa, approx. 48 km
You follow Kattegattleden north passing one of Northern Europe´s finest birdsites and small fishing villages.
Accommodation at a Bed & Breakfast in Åsa, a small village south of the town Kungsbacka. 


Day 6
Åsa - Särö, approx. 59 km
Today you cycle through the countryside to Kungsbacka passing some exciting tourist attractions on the way. Like Tjolöholms castle and Fjärås bräckas unique environment from the Iron Age. From Kungsbacka you cycle through the peninsula, Säröhalvön. 
Accommodation and dinner in a top class hotel with a wonderful sea view and with free access to their spa.

Day 7
Särö - Gothenburg, approx. 32 km
The length of your last day trip allows you to experience the second largest town in Sweden, Gothenburg. The tour ends here after arrival to Gothenburg, but why not stay an extra night? Take the chanse to visit the amusementpark, Liseberg, do some shopping or just rest your legs on a boat trip on the canals.

The roads

The route follows Kattegattleden on bicycle paths or side roads with little traffic. A bicycle friendly landscape without inconvinient hills with a small exception on day 2 wich offers a bit more hilly landscape.
Please note that some smaller parts of the distance remains to be fixed and follows roads with a bit more traffic.  

You are constantly reminded that Kattegattleden is a route close to the ocean.

   About Kattegattleden
- Sweden´s first national bicycle route, 370 km long, opened and was signed with "no 1" in 2015. A cycle route, almost car-free, close to the ocean, that offers unique scenic and cultural experiences along the route. You will also be exposed to a varied environment as the route passes both countryside and small coastal towns on its way.

This fresh and homie little hotel is located in the 500 years old town Ängelholm, day 1.

Cycle friendly overnight stay in apartments with views over the sea and the beach, day 2.
Beaches, beaches, beaches... There are a lot of them along the Kattegattleden. Here, on of the most wellknown in Sweden, Tylösand, close to Halmstad.
Day 3 are you staying at a hostel with hotel standard. Their restaurant has ocean view.
To be able to enjoy the sunset on the westcoast of Sweden is often magical.
Overnight stay in a unique hotel, where a charming turn of the century meets modern comfort, day 4.
The bathhouse in Varberg, open all year.
One of your overnight stays will be at a B&B in Åsa a village south of the town Kungsbacka, day 5.
A good way to finish your cycle tour will be to spend the last night in a top class hotel with a fantastic view of the sea. Free access to the spa and relax area, day 6.

Maps and information

Maps and information will be sent to you after final payment, in good time before your arrival. Read more "Book", booking/terms and conditions. 

The tour starts in Helsingborg and ends in Gothenburg. If you have your car parked in Helsingborg, it is easy to go back by train or bus in Skåne and bus in Halland and  when your cycle trip ends. If you arrive by train the train stations in both Helsingborg and Gothenburg are located in the centre. Now it is also possible to book your personal transport from Gothenburg back to Helsingborg. Please contact us for further  information.

Luggage transportation is included. When you arrive to the different accommodations, your luggage is already there!
During summertime a lot of places arrange After Beach with live music. Here in Tylösand, close to Halmstad.
You will find many places to visit along the cycle route. Here the mill in Särdal with a café, shop and exhibition,

The route follows the popular boardwalk to the town Varberg.
